Please join us for a lively exploration about the current state of reading comprehension in the United States and the challenges associated with preparing students with the reading skills needed to pursue postsecondary education and careers.  The discussion will draw upon the IES Reading for Understanding Research Initiative, a 5-year investment designed to develop effective strategies to improve reading comprehension through intervention and assessment.

The research meeting and webcast are being hosted by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), in collaboration with thirteen co-sponsoring companies, to support efforts to improve the academic achievement of

all students.
