Solving Teacher Shortages

Thursday, September 15, Solving Teacher Shortages:  Attracting and Retaining a Talented and Diverse Teaching Force

The Learning Policy Institute

Across the nation, critical teacher shortages have been emerging, causing districts to scramble to find qualified teachers in math, science, special education, bilingual education, and other fields - with the most severe shortages in the highest need schools. Please join the Learning Policy Institutefor a timely discussion of these issues among leaders from government, education, business, and parent and community organizations.

The Solving Teacher Shortages: Attracting and Recruiting a Talented and Diverse Work Force forum will feature new data on the extent and nature of current teacher shortages, and highlight research about recruitment and retention strategies that provide effective long-term solutions. Speakers and participants will discuss the most effective ways to create a strong profession that attracts and retains a talented and diverse teaching force in every school for all communities.

To be held from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (EST) at the Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Avenue, NW
